대한장애인치과학회(회장 김광철)가 지난달 30일 서울대치과병원에서 ‘2016년 춘계 학술대회 및 제13차 정기총회’를 진행했다. 이번 행사에는 일본장애자치과학회 회원 및 대만장애인치과학회 회원을 비롯해 220여명이 참석한 가운데 치러졌다.

이번 학술대회는 국제 심포지엄과 자유연제 포스터 발표 및 특강이 진행됐다. 먼저 국제 심포지엄은 ‘Nationwide, community dental care centers for special needs patients: current status and future outlook’을 주제로 한국(김동현(단국대) 교수), 일본Akihiro Shigeeda( Director of Tokyo Metropolitan center for oral health of persons with disability), 대만 Tat-ming Lai (Director of Taiwan Association for  Disabilities and Oral Health)의 상황을 비교 확인할 수 있는 시간이 진행됐다.

학술대회 중 자유연제 포스터발표 세션에는 국내 13명, 국외 7명이 참가해, 장애인치과학에 대한 다양한 연구주제를 발표했다. 그 결과 수상자는 국내참가자 부분에서 김익환(연세치대) (주제:The effect of posterior bite block on oral self-mutilation in a quadriplegic patient)'과 황영혜(서울대치과병원) (주제:Shortening of canal shaping time by using single NiTi  file system)이, 해외 참가자 중에는 Koji Umezawa(일본) (주제:Usefulness of gram-positive bacteria as health status indicator of periodontal tissue)와, Kazunori Takamori(일본) (주제:Craniofacial bone morphogenesis and malocclusion in Mecp2 null mice)에게 돌아갔다.

학술대회 마지막은 ‘Current issues in research and management for special needs patients’ 주제 특강이 이어졌다. 특강은 장규태(강동경희대학병원  한방소아과) 교수가   ‘Management of Developmental Disorders in children based on Traditional Korean Medicine에 대해, 신터전(서울대치과병원 소아치과) 교수가 ’Anesthesiologic management and consideration for special needs patients‘를 주제로 강연을 진행했다. 마지막 강연은 일본 Yoshida(Chief of Department of Dentistry at Kitakyushu General Medical-Educational Center) 교수가 나서 ’The roll of general anesthesia and intravenous sedation in special care dentistry‘를 주제로 강연했다.

한편 학술대회 후 진행된 제13차 정기총회에서는 2015년 추경예산안, 2015년 결산 및 사업실적 보고와 감사보고 그리고 이어, 2016년 예산안을 통과시켰다. 정기총회에서는 오는 2024년 ‘세계장애인치과학회’ 유치가 확정됐다는 소식을 전하기도 했다.
